Welcome to Simple Affections
Hi, I'm Ashley — and welcome to Simple Affections! 🤍
I'm so glad you're here.
I've always been someone who gets a little too excited about the details.
Give me a theme, a blank space, a Pinterest board and a reason to celebrate, and I'm probably already thinking about the color palette, the decorations, the little details on the table and, of course, where I can find everything.
I've always loved creating beautiful things and planning celebrations, but becoming a mom made me appreciate those little moments even more.
There is something about a birthday, a baby shower, a holiday, or even an ordinary afternoon at home that feels a little more special when you put thought into it.
And that's really where Simple Affections came from.
A Place for the Things I Love
Simple Affections is a place to share all of the things that make life feel a little sweeter.
Party ideas.
Pretty finds.
Home inspiration.
Kids' spaces.
Hosting.
Gift ideas.
Amazon finds.
And all of those little details that make you think, "Oh my gosh, I need that."
I'm a big believer that things don't have to be complicated or expensive to feel special.
Sometimes it's a beautiful cake stand.
Sometimes it's a basket that finally makes a messy space feel organized.
Sometimes it's a cute outfit for your little one.
Sometimes it's simply adding a few thoughtful details to a table before friends and family arrive.
Those are the things I love finding, creating and sharing.
Why "Simple Affections"?
The name Simple Affections is really about appreciating the little things.
The little things that make you smile.
The details you remember.
The traditions you create.
The things you buy because you know someone you love will be so excited to see them.
I don't think every celebration needs to be extravagant. I actually think some of the most memorable moments come from simple ideas that are thoughtfully put together.
That's what I hope to share here.
A Little Peek Into My World
If you've found your way here from Pinterest, Instagram or somewhere else, welcome!
You'll probably see quite a bit of party planning around here because it is something I genuinely love.
My daughter's first birthday was one of my favorite celebrations to plan. We went with an ice cream theme, complete with pastel balloons, an ice cream cart, a dessert table and all the little details that made the day feel like a tiny pastel ice cream shop.
I'll be sharing that party here soon — including the things I bought, what I loved, what I would do differently and, of course, where you can find some of the pieces.
But parties are just the beginning.
I also want Simple Affections to be a place where you can come when you're looking for inspiration for your home, a birthday party, a baby shower, a gift, a kids' room or simply something pretty that makes everyday life a little more fun.
Let's Find the Good Stuff Together
One of my favorite parts of planning anything is the finding.
You know the feeling — you have an idea in your head and then suddenly you find the perfect little piece that makes the whole thing come together.
I'll be sharing those finds here.
Some will be things I've personally purchased and loved. Others will be things I'm currently saving for a future project, party or room.
I'll always try to tell you what I actually think is worth buying, what I would skip, and how I would use something.
And yes, you'll probably see quite a few Amazon links around here.
If you've ever fallen down an Amazon rabbit hole looking for the perfect party supplies, home organization piece or birthday outfit, you're in the right place.
So, Welcome!
I'm really excited to start this little corner of the internet.
I hope Simple Affections becomes a place where you can come for inspiration, find something you love, get an idea for your next celebration and maybe leave with a few new things on your wish list.
Because life doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful.
Sometimes it's the simple little affections that make the best memories.
I'm so happy you're here.
Welcome to Simple Affections. 🤍
